JUNE 2026 EXPENSE REPORT

We finished up our time in the Badlands and headed toward Jackson, Wyoming to meet up with some friends from Ireland who just so happened to be vacationing there for the week. We were planning to head that way eventually but decided to head over to take advantage of seeing people we would otherwise never get to spend time with.

And while we were in Jackson, we also learned that some other friends from LA would be visiting their family in Montana and they were hoping we could head that way to spend some time with them.

When we were planning this trip we decided we weren’t actually going to ‘plan’. We have a list of places we definitely want to go and a list of places that would be nice to go if it makes sense, but we have very few set plans. Having this flexibility has really helped us be able to be there for our friends and family in ways that we normally wouldn’t be able to due to having full time jobs.

We spend more time in Boise then we planned due to needing a brake job on the van and needing to wait for a few days for an appointment.

3 Days in the Badlands, South Dakota
10 Days in Jackson, Wyoming
6 Days in Yellowstone, Montana
11 Days in Idaho (mostly Boise)

ACTIVITIES

Hiking, meeting up with friends, wildlife watching in Yellowstone, hot springs, and waiting around for a car appointment

EXPENSES

Categories are in alphabetical order. The brake job was technically at the beginning of July so that will be on next month’s expense report.
